Daisies are one of the many varieties of wild flowers that grow prolifically near our cottage on the Georgian Bay in Ontario, Canada. There were several daisies in a vase on our porch during the midday sun that created interesting shadows. I had painted white water lilies before, but I was intrigued by the difference in the play of light and shadow on these daisies' petals. As I looked closer, the center of the daisies hypnotized me and this is what I wanted to capture in 'Country Girls'.
