I first saw this particularly bright and vibrant cattleya orchid at a friend's house in Melbourne Australia. His parents, who are avid gardeners, grow beautiful orchids.
Those of you who have followed my painting career know I have a particular affinity for orchids. While I was painting this flower, Ed Bradley died. Ed was someone I have always admired for being a classy man, even in the face of adversity. When Ed died, I learned that he'd always had fresh flowers on his desk. I also learned that when he pursued his passion for music, he took on another persona and was referred to as 'Ted'. So it only felt right to me to name this painting in honor of Ed Bradley.
