Biography

Born in 1946 in Toowoomba, I was fortunate to grow up in a Family with a great Appreciation for Nature; initially Birds, but soon spreading out to all aspects of the Natural World.

As a Farmer and Grazier I was in intimate contact with the bush on a daily basis, and observed over many years the subtle changes that were taking place; learning how to fit in with them, and assisting where possible where things were going wrong (controlling Feral Animal Predators, and now restoring Soil Fertility over a wide area using Natural Biological Methods).

The result was a wonderful home Property, worked in harmony with Nature, that became World famous for its Wildlife Diversity and careful Development.

In the mid 1960's the desire to record what I was seeing, and my contact with many of Australia's foremost Naturalists, started me on the path of Wildlife Photography … a somewhat solitary occupation.

Half Moon Bay #3 - By Australian Photographic Artist Chris Cameron Over the past several years I have been looking for a method of presenting the best of my work in a unique manner … heavily influenced by the exquisite Watercolours of my late wife Mary, and her Mother, Betty McKenzie. The goal was to produce an Archival Image on the beautiful textured watercolour paper that they used … retaining the detail of the "parent" photograph, but with some of the "softness" of a Watercolour. It is only in the early part of this year (2003) that this has been realised, in a parallel development to that happening elsewhere in the World, now known as the "Giclee process".

With this part finally achieved, I am now going through my Library, selecting the very best Wildlife and Landscape Images to carefully transform and release in Limited Edition Series, for the enjoyment of many more people, as well as still seeking more of our unique and spectacular Species to add to this Collection!
