Christine Camilleri
Christine Camilleri's studio is in Coquitlam, BC. She is predominantly self taught and is an Active Status* member with the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA). * Active Status is granted [by the Federation of Canadian Artists] to members who have submitted paintings to be juried and have been accepted by the Federation jurors. She works in watercolour and pastels. "I have always been attracted to art that is bold with unexpected colour. I was inspired by the Canadian artists known as the Group of Seven at an early age. A.Y. Jackson, Lawren Harris and Tom Thomson were my favourite artists. I remember standing in front of Tom Thomson's "The Jack Pine" in the National Gallery of Art in Ottawa for a long time and marvelling at the wide variety of colours that make up this beautiful and simple painting."
