"An old weathered barn surrounded by fields of weeds growing through old fenders and spoked wheels of a bygone era. Pulling open the door, this dusty, forgotten relic loomed out at us like a spirit from the past. Someone's dream ... a '38 Chev tucked away in this time capsule." Dave Beckett is a firm believer that luck plays a great part in finding subjects like this for his paintings, and this was no exception. A recent trip in the country provided this dusty old subject. The hard oxidized steel of the fender and the staring head lamp gave him the focal point to develop this nostalgic painting.
