One of the most honest and true moments is that one special and quiet moment with a mother and her newborn baby. This is my mare, Holly whom I have had since a foal who is with her first foal, Jake. He was born 3 weeks early and was nothing but legs and ears, but what a treasure he was! I spent the whole morning out there with the two horses in the pasture just simply being there and quietly sharing this amazing miracle together. This horse portrait 'Gentle Moment' is a western art original that I put together from that special wonderful early morning in May.
There is a true tenderness and softness portrayed by a mother through the expression of the mare and such a brand new innocence from the foal. An unspoken bond is being established between the two of them…one that will never be broken throughout the upcoming years.
The pure love of a mother with her newborn baby is such a wonderful thing to be able to see, and how amazing it is to be able to see that tender bond from such a large, magnificent animal.
