Biography

To be 'a part of' and live my inner passion is my constant daily goal and a dream that I am now finally being able to live, I am so very excited about the journey of where my art will take me tomorrow. It is the joy of becoming the person who I am today.

Hello, my name is Debbie and next to being a mother of 3 great kids, I am an artist. I received top artist in grade 12 and have always tried to upgrade my talent throughout the years of early parenthood. Now I am pursuing my life-long dream of becoming an equestrian and portrait artist.

I was just recently juried and accepted into the Federation of Canadian Artists as an active member and in November of 2005. "The Jump" received 'Juror's Award' and, "Frosty Morn." received 'Chapters Award' at the Kamloops first FCA show. Now this spring, "The Eventer" was juried and accepted into the Canadian Federation Hyper-realism show in Vancouver, BC. "Above the Sage" and "Water Babies" were accepted into the "Communities in Bloom" festival, 2006, which ran consecutively with the BC Summer Games.

"The Jump" was also featured on the front cover of "The Horsemen's Corral" a leading equestrian and western magazine in the state of Ohio, May issue, volume 38 number 5. I was also represented as an equestrian artist within the "Merrill Lynch 'Hunter Jumper Classic'" programs, July 2006. And also, within the "Northern Ohio Live", a leading 'Arts and Culture' magazine.

I absolutely love what I do. It's amazing to capture those few and precious moments of your children at play, then to be able to portray them onto canvas, is beyond any words that one can describe.

I was raised on a working cattle ranch within the heart of the Highland Valley of British Columbia, Canada, and growing up with my family in the country has been so memorable for me. Now as a mother of 3, I try to always instill the working ethics and life values that my parents gave to us to my children today. They have all given me an opportunity to really appreciate this country, our western lifestyle and the beautiful simplicities that surrounds us everyday.

My goal as an artist is to be able to capture that "one" moment that is so briefly there then gone again. It is that moment that is the most intense and most precious and the "one" that is never forgotten. Isn't that what life is all about? Those little moments along the way?

I have learned to really appreciate and really see the true beauty of all that surrounds us. And now my goal as an artist is to reflect those images upon canvas.

My style is new and is ever evolving and still seeking and experimenting as to where it desires to go, but my main passion is to portray those moments of true emotion. My passion is my horses and my children, and their inner beauty and spirituality is what I strive to portray and bring out. As a new artist I am studying the works of our masters and am starting to enter shows and really become a part of the art world.

I am so excited as to the possibilities of being able to really follow my dreams and live each moment loving what I do. To be still and know that I am on the right path of my destiny, to enlighten upon the simplicity and beauty that surrounds us, capturing the inner wisdom through the eye of an old soul and to be able to feel the knowledge that comes forth.

I would like to invite you to take a cup of coffee, put your feet up and take a stroll through my website. Many people giggle and laugh, but most are touched by the realization that "Hey, I can relate to that moment right there".

I thank-you.
Sincerely,

Debbie
