Step Seven

Live Portrait Step 7 - By Canadian Artist Ellen Cowie

Working over such a long period of time is atypical of my work. Unfortunately, I have dragged this out but as an artist I ALWAYS need a deadline or I never seem to have that moment when I dive into my work and finish a piece. I usually create paintings during a two to four week period, working on several at a time. This portrait began from life but due to busy schedules has come this far through photos as resource material. The portrait is very close to completion. I will touch up the hands and then see what the reviews are from the judge and her advisors!
