My goal is not only to paint a visually attractive picture, but also to allow the viewer to relate to the image before them. From the inception of a new work through to the end, I develop abstract elements (such as positive and negative shapes) to create a pleasing composition. Everyone has their own way of seeing the world; I am just painting my interpretation of it." |

Beyond technical ability, Michele feels an artist's biggest challenge is to evoke emotion. To capture a fleeting moment or mood, involving the viewer in more than a photographic translation. She mixes traditional subject matter with non-traditional style and flair. Her work offers a wide range of media that knows no bounds, captivating the imagination and delighting the sense of sight. Michele's diverse work portrays the full range of human emotion, from thoughtful quiet images to vibrant, colorful, and exciting portrayals.
In addition to painting, Michele has been teaching art for over 10 years. She encourages each student to find their own way of expression, using an individual approach to meet each student's needs. She gives demonstrations and workshops for many art clubs and associations throughout southern Alberta. |
