Marc LaCaille

|
Canadian artist Marc LaCaille's artwork is often described as evocative, bright and colorful -a feast for the eyes and soul. It is the expression of a moment, an idea or an emotion through the constant exploration of lines, forms and colours. It is the constant pursuit of a delicate harmony between the subjective response and the internal structuring of an object, a person or a scene. The structure of the painting is as important as its content. Lacaille's signature style is personal and authentic. It is the result of research, experimentation and, like the artist says, the intense winter light of the North. Solid composition and a unique way of combining colours characterise Marc's images.

Elisabeth Litto

|
Elisabeth Littomericzky was born in Vienna, Austria, in 1956. She discovered she was interested in more than designing clothes while attending Schloss Hetzendorf School of Fashion Design. That broader interest laid in creating scenes of colours, shading, and detail; works of art. At the time, she did a lot of drawing, mostly using pencil and crayon. When she realized her interest for art, the Vienna art circle had great artists such as Rudolph Hausner and Ernst Fuchs.

Debbie Lund

|
Beautiful original equestrian and western horse art from Canadian Federation Artist, Debbie Lund.
Customized and personal portraits of your horse, pet and family.
"My style is new and is ever evolving and still seeking and experimenting as to where it desires to go, but my main passion is to portray those moments of true emotion. My passion is my horses and my children, and their inner beauty and spirituality is what I strive to portray and bring out. My goal as an artist is to be able to capture that "one" moment that is so briefly there then gone again. It is that moment that is the most intense and most precious and the "one" that is never forgotten. Isn't that what life is all about? Those little moments along the way?"

Bernard Major

|
“Bernie” made his transition to oil paints several years ago after being a watercolourist most of his adult life. Since then he has immersed himself in this wonderful medium, exploring its endless qualities. A style has emerged rich in colour and texture. This has been achieved while preserving the translucent effect he so loved with water colours. His subjects are wide and varied; from landscapes to still life, from portraits to boats and from animals to life models. He explains, “Choosing a subject for a new painting is the first important step. I have to feel compelled to paint the subject matter, telling the story I can see is there. Once this is decided, I become absorbed in the process until I am ready to sign the painting”.
Bernie is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists with numerous juried competitions to his credit.

I knew I found my calling in life when the first time that I picked up a piece of stone and began to carve the surface of it. There was something far beyond what I could explain. Something told me that the “Creator” had given me my gift for it felt right and it felt powerful. I will cherish, and be eternally grateful for this gift that was given so freely. That feeling has never left me, when I begin to carve, it’s like the “Creator” is continuing to guide me. My openness – my focus – is almost like a trance I listen to what the stone is saying to me, not in words, but with images that shows me what to carve and where. In this manner, I create unique and original works of art. I get a feeling of overwhelming happiness and excitement when a piece is finished. Then, I can see that I am bringing each piece of stone to life… as though it will soon breathe on its own.

Reg Parsons

|
“Creating life in sculpture that expresses beauty, passion and strength makes me come alive. I choose my subjects and themes from picturing the finished piece, complete with detail, before my hands touch the clay. I’m challenged to expand my style of realism through varied techniques to capture the life of each piece as my eyes see it.”
With unlimited talent as a self taught artist, he looks forward to his next work being his best. Be it a notebook, a canvas, or a lump of clay, he demands excellence in everything he puts his hand to, and gives credit to God as the source of his gifts.

I like to think that my work exhibits the interaction of colour, design and natural light, bringing freshness to each subject. Mood, which I illustrate through the design of light and its interplay with the subject of the scene, is a common thread in most of my work. I recently expanded my canvas to the larger dimension of 40 X 40 inches and in some subjects 40 X 60 inches and ventured into the medium of acrylics, thus expanding my communication with the viewer. I love doing commission assignments and taking on the challenge of transferring to canvass the patrons emotion and interpretation of mood in the subject. I have worked with patrons incorporating their artefacts into a still-life. I have also consulted with respect to the commissioning of painting(s) to best suit a particular home décor. I use my garden as inspiration for many floral interpretations.

John Salsnek

|
John loves to paint. Period. He simply loves to paint. He has many other interests but painting comes first. He prefers to capture what he knows and will do extensive research, both outdoors and in his library to create a mood, a moment.
He began painting full time 15 years ago and credits his popularity to several factors. Primarily, he sets a goal for each piece, and until he's absolutely satisfied, it's just not finished. Despite that, John completes about 30 originals every year and issues several limited editions.
"Equally important", says John, "are my collectors, painting as a career requires enormous sensitivity to their observations, if they no longer appreciate, or can't afford your work, the circle is broken. I admit, I paint primarily for myself but there is so much satisfaction and reward in completing a painting and knowing that someone will want to take it home."
..... and the circle continues.

Tricia Sellmer

|
In 1990 Canadian artist Tricia Sellmer enrolled at the University College of the Cariboo where, as a student, she faced fresh challenges, found an exciting new model of thought and learned to tap her pent-up creative energy. After spending the summer of 1992 painting in France she returned to U.C.C. to continue her studies in Fine Arts. In 1993 she received a diploma in Fine Arts and has continued to study and improve her style. Tricia strives to become more inspirational, experimental and disciplined and less realistic, pushing the perimeters of technique to achieve her bold, free images. She is attracted to quality of line, intensity of pure, strong colours and the texture of brush or knife strokes on a clean, white canvas.
