Folk Art and Illustration by Canadian Artist lisarotenberg
Lisa Rotenberg is a very busy artist, working out of her cubby hole studio in downtown Toronto.
Listed with the National Gallery of Canada, she produces work at an alarming rate for private and corporate clients - showing a flare for color and wit that has not landed her in trouble yet.
Whether the subject matter is a dancing hot dog or a Canadian landscape, craftsmanship and strategy are key elements of her work.
A painting must stand the test of time or it does not leave the office.

John Salsnek
John Salsnek Canadian Artist
John loves to paint. Period. He simply loves to paint. He has many other interests but painting comes first. He prefers to capture what he knows and will do extensive research, both outdoors and in his library to create a mood, a moment.
He began painting full time 15 years ago and credits his popularity to several factors. Primarily, he sets a goal for each piece, and until he's absolutely satisfied, it's just not finished. Despite that, John completes about 30 originals every year and issues several limited editions.
"Equally important", says John, "are my collectors, painting as a career requires enormous sensitivity to their observations, if they no longer appreciate, or can't afford your work, the circle is broken. I admit, I paint primarily for myself but there is so much satisfaction and reward in completing a painting and knowing that someone will want to take it home."
..... and the circle continues.

Tricia Sellmer
Tricia Sellmer
In 1990 Canadian artist Tricia Sellmer enrolled at the University College of the Cariboo where, as a student, she faced fresh challenges, found an exciting new model of thought and learned to tap her pent-up creative energy. After spending the summer of 1992 painting in France she returned to U.C.C. to continue her studies in Fine Arts. In 1993 she received a diploma in Fine Arts and has continued to study and improve her style.  Tricia strives to become more inspirational, experimental and disciplined and less realistic, pushing the perimeters of technique to achieve her bold, free images. She is attracted to quality of line, intensity of pure, strong colours and the texture of brush or knife strokes on a clean, white canvas.

Ian Sheldon
Ian Sheldon Alberta Artist
Canadian artist Ian Sheldon was born in Edmonton in 1971, and was brought up in South Africa, Singapore and England. While studying for his first degree (BA Hons) at Cambridge University, England, Ian began to paint the historical architecture of the city. Since 1994 galleries have exhibited this work, and in 1998, Cambridge Contemporary Art, the city's leading commercial gallery, accepted his watercolors. The City of Oxford, sharing a similar architectural heritage, has become a recent focus. Ian makes frequent trips to Britain to pursue his architectural passion.

Don Sibley
Don Sibley Ontario Artist
Don continues to create striking oil paintings on canvas using bold warm colours with an intense light source. Still Life compositions are a favourite subject matter especially in the winter months when working outside is not always possible. Working in the comfort of his studio, he is able to position the subject endlessly and move the lights around until everything is just the way he wants it to be before beginning. Some of the work he does is commissioned but many of the paintings on display here are started using sketches done on location in Europe and here in Canada.

Sharon Strand Sigfuson
Floral Art by Saskatchewan Artist - Sharon Strand Sigfuson
Saskatchewan heritage and portrait artist, Sharon Strand Sigfuson spent many years painting wildlife and wildflowers. For the past ten years the artist has studied and developed her first love, the rendition of portraiture and human form. History was always a second love and the artist combined these two interests to create a series of nostalgic heritage works depicting rural life and farming with horses from the early 1900's to the mid 1950's. These compositions were developed from a combination of memories plus family and archival black and white photos. Color reference for these works came from many excursions with her camera into the surrounding countryside to capture the (light of the day), which varies from season to season, day to day and hour to hour.

The artist works primarily on stretched canvas with oil color. Sharon does commission work, and welcomes you to contact her.

Barbara Simpson
Barbara Simpson Ontario Artist

Barbara Simpson, the exciting "Originals Only" Canadian artist, resides in Brockville near the picturesque St. Lawrence River while continuing to pursue her passion to paint.

My paintings define my individuality, along with my vibrant personality. I love a myriad of colour, which represents my "joie de vivre". My work is considered to be upbeat, warm and flattering to the eye. And while I currently work with acrylic paints, I have experimented with other mediums such as: pen and ink, charcoal, pastel, watercolor and oil. I enjoy painting abstract, portrait and various other subjects, although, most of my work features floral and landscapes, and several tropical settings.

Kristeen Verge
Kristeen Verge - British Columbia Artist
Kristeen's passion for life transpires through her fine art. On canvas, she uses saturated acrylic colours to interpret mostly flowers in a rich and voluptuous semi-abstract style. Her artwork is inspired by music and gardening memories. Her expression is distinct, bold and uplifting. As her collectors report: "Owning Verge's paintings keep a smile in our hearts."
Colours, brushes, canvases……..and I'm in timelessness; free to express my passion. The rich reds, purples, yellows and greens mingle to create semi-abstract bold and uplifting fine art. As a professional artist, my intention is to impart the viewer with artwork that will make ones heart sing!
