Paul Constable
Paul Constable Canadian Artist
Paul Constable is a Canadian artist from Saskatchewan. His work varies in subject from figurative to landscape, often with a theme in mind. Rich oil paintings convey a unique view of land as a flowing, moving body similar to the ocean. His Rock Island series drew inspiration from rocks that farmers pick off their fields and then pile up in one place to form an "island" in the middle of the field. The only landmark for miles under the prairie sky, Constable paints them during different times of the day and seasons. He also explores a West Coast theme, and his figurative themes include the farmers market and the winter carnival in Saskatoon, exploring a sense of community on the prairies through the seasons. Constable studied at the Alberta College of Art and Design and presently lives in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Valerie Hinz
Valerie Hinz - Saskatchewan Artist - Western Heritage Artist
Valerie Hinz (b. 1956) Valerie lives in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and has been a professional artist, working in television since 1979. In 2000, she left her job with the CTV affiliate to paint full time. One of her earlier commercial exhibitions was with the U.S. Arabian National Horse Show in Louisville, KY. There, she took a tour of Churchill Downs, where she viewed an exhibit of the works by the American Academy of Equine Art for the first time. She eagerly submitted work to future AAEA shows, where within two years, she gratefully accepted the 1992 Gordon Barton Memorial Award for Best in Show. Valerie attributes the AAEA for giving her the start she needed in the equine art world. The publicity received from her wins through the AAEA juried exhibitions helped her to become visible to the galleries that represent her today.

Denyse Klette
Denyse Klette
Portrait and mural artist, Denyse Klette, has an amazing ability to capture life's many pleasures in her paintings. She transports us to time of wild abandon, quiet contemplation, belly laughs, and smiles. To witness her creations is to get lost in lighthearted brush strokes and a love of all that life has to offer. Her Portraits, whether of a whimsical toothless child or a CEO of a major corporation, capture the essence of that individual. She tries whenever possible to spend time with the subjects of her portraits and observe how they interact with family, friends, and the world around them. She then transforms the emotions and personality of the individuals into canvas keepsakes to be treasured for years to come. Her talent is not restricted to canvas portraits. You could walk into her murals and join the world that she has created. One of her most coveted murals entitled "So Much To Discover", painted in 1993, is still pleasing pedestrians, drivers, and travelers from all around. It stands proudly at the top of the Broadway bridge in Saskatoon.

Norm Krogstad
Norm Krogstad Canadian Artist
I have been drawing most of my life, and I have always enjoyed it. I experimented with painting when I was sixteen, but found I enjoyed drawing more and went back to pencil and paper for several more years. As a nature lover, I have been fortunate to be able to travel extensively in the Beautiful Northern Country of Saskatchewan. I have always liked to be out in the wild, the lakes, trees and animals have always been very special to me, and as an artist, my inspiration! When I travel, camera and sketch pad in hand, I see hidden details, the awesome power of nature providing me with an unending story to tell.

Jackie Miller
Paintings by Saskatoon Artist Jackie Miller
My motivation and inspiration come from the movement and colours of my environment. My paintings are a suggestion of what I encounter daily their interpretation is subject to what you feel.

I paint a number of subjects, from fruits to abstract, infusing vivid color into each image, bringing new life to old topics. The common thread is that each holds and shares a distinctive attitude and presence. From whimsical cityscapes with rhythmic patterns to lose simple images where the paint and it's texture define the painting.

Using distinctive, strong and vivid colors, the artist invites you into her images in hopes that it will evoke emotion and interaction.

Val Moker
Val Moker Western Art
Canadian artist Val Moker's strong suit is seen in her attention to detail, displaying in macros of nature's flora and interaction of people in various settings. Her compositions capture atmosphere, character and emotion, resulting in harmonious and crisp compositions that hold the viewer's focus, a true compliment to her ability. "I have been blessed with the privilege to create. This is something that I have chosen not to take for granted. I am constantly researching, visualizing and then composing pictures in my mind, so that when it comes time to place my brush to canvas or paper, it is a channeling of a vision I've already created. Feelings, thoughts, beliefs, atmosphere . . . these are some of the ingredients that go into the stories that are told in my paintings. Am I looking at the window or through the window?"

Catherine O'Byrne
Saskatchewan Artist Catherine O'Byrne
As a prairie artist, I'm a member of Regina's Rosemont Art Gallery, of the Aurora Art Guild, and of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Art Association. I work for the provincial government, but in my spare time paint as much as I can, and teach the occasional watercolour course.
Viewers have described my artwork as "whimsical fantasy", "oriental", or "mystical" , regardless of the subject - which tends to be things we don't normally think twice about: that little frog clinging to a stalk in the garden; a caterpillar crawling on a stem; a lizard stalking a fly; snails on a mushroom. My artwork tends to belong to one of three categories - those little "critters" mentioned above, garden-type landscapes with a slightly oriental leaning, and monochrome subjects in grays or browns, ranging from landscapes to - so far: bulrushes (cattails), dandelions, dragonflies, fawns and birds.
My artwork has found homes, so far, from Ottawa to Victoria, as well as England and Wales, in the US from Florida to California, and in Australia and New Zealand.

Dan Reid

Dan Reid is a self-taught Canadian artist who has spent all his life on the prairies. Growing up on a farm in Saskatchewan instilled in him an appreciation for the ever-changing moods of the prairie landscape and its beautiful open skies.

His interest in the vanishing prairie elevator, and antique cars is reflected in many of his paintings, which provide a nostalgic glimpse of Canada's past.

Originals, limited edition reproductions, and note cards are available in several galleries and gift shops in Saskatchewan and Alberta. Dan will also be attending art shows and sales throughout the year.

Thomas Schultz
Thomas Schultz Canadian Artist
Tom Schultz was born in 1957 in northeastern Saskatchewan, Canada. His passion for wildlife and the outdoors began when he was very small, inspired and fostered by childhood hunting and fishing trips with his father. Even since then, Tom has been able to combine his love of nature with his artistic interests, specifically in the fields of sculpture and bronze casting.
In 1995, he began his career as a sculptor in earnest -- a natural offshoot of his expertise in taxidermy -- and by 1998 had a body of work sufficient for him to start marketing his bronzes. Tom has sold his sculptures to discriminating collectors throughout Canada and the United States.

Lorne Sieben
Saskatchewan Pencil Artist Lorne Sieben
"My drawing came by the way of custom knife making. In an effort to beautify my blades I looked to engraving. Drawing designs for engraving slowly introduced me to larger scaled drawing.
Fascination of the beauty and diversity in nature were always one of my top interests. I tend to lean toward wildlife art, but I will be diverse in my art in the future."

Sharon Strand Sigfuson
Floral Art by Saskatchewan Artist - Sharon Strand Sigfuson
Saskatchewan heritage and portrait artist, Sharon Strand Sigfuson spent many years painting wildlife and wildflowers. For the past ten years the artist has studied and developed her first love, the rendition of portraiture and human form. History was always a second love and the artist combined these two interests to create a series of nostalgic heritage works depicting rural life and farming with horses from the early 1900's to the mid 1950's. These compositions were developed from a combination of memories plus family and archival black and white photos. Color reference for these works came from many excursions with her camera into the surrounding countryside to capture the (light of the day), which varies from season to season, day to day and hour to hour.

The artist works primarily on stretched canvas with oil color. Sharon does commission work, and welcomes you to contact her.

Al Weitzel
Al Weitzel Scratch Board Artist
Al's remarkably detailed and lifelike works have inspired hundreds of other artists, both professional and amateur, to try their hand at this unique and exciting art medium. His Scratchboard workshop kit, designed as a learn-at-home version of his popular introduction to scratchboard workshop, has created a legion of new artist and crafters who enjoy the challenges and rewards of scratchboard.
Al’s original works have been called “unbelievably realistic”, “remarkable creations of light and shadow”, “incredible achievements”, “so three-dimensional I swear I could reach right into the scene.” It’s not surprising then that they are hanging in corporate and private collections in countries around the world. Al’s “Art of Achievement” series of reproductions are a popular choice in Canadian homes and businesses alike.
