Born in 1962 and raised in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. It was in his early years that his interests in wildlife and wildlife art were sparked. In 1982, Guy had the opportunity to immigrate to Canada. This experience has led to a number of different occupations that helped build the foundation of his art career. In 1991, he had the opportunity to work with a well respected artist and master sculptor by the name of William Davis. Bill lives in Wapiti, Wyoming, west of Cody, and invited Guy to work with him for a couple of weeks in 1991 and two more weeks in 1992. Bill helped give him a thorough understanding of the Bronze process as well as helped to develop the detailed style of sculpting that Guy does. He will forever be grateful for Bill's support and guidance and says, "When it comes to 'heroes', he's mine." Having worked in many different mediums, Guy has found sculpting the most satisfying. Capturing the movement and textures of his subjects seems to be a constant challenge. Great thought and knowledge goes into showing off each element of his sculptures in a unique, appealing, and realistic format with a slight artist twist. While living in Western and North Western Canada, Guy has had the opportunity to view many species of wildlife in their natural environment. From a Beaver searching a mountain stream for food, to two Bull Moose battling it out during the Rut. Or, a herd of Mountain Caribou running up and over a mountain at the sight of a wolverine, to Mountain Goats scaling cliffs, Guy has had the opportunity to experience nature in its truest form. It's these experiences that have proven to be a great asset in realistically portraying his subjects. Guy has been in the art business since 1985 and a full time artist since 1993. His work has taken him to much of Western North America and parts of Europe. Guy has owned two ranches, one in Central British Columbia as well as the present one in South Western Alberta near Pincher Creek. Having raised Corriente Cattle (a breed commonly used in rodeos) as well as numerous horses, Guy has a thorough understanding of the ranching way of life. This has lead to a good understanding of the Western subjects he recreates in Bronze. You will find Guy's sculptures in collections all over North America, Europe, Japan, China and New Zealand.
