Carol proudly presents her love of art in several mediums - primarily oil, but works with watercolor, pen and ink and pencil especially for field studies. Her subject matter is very diversified. She paints portraits, still lifes, street scenes, scenery, florals. She is best known for her figurative work. Her use of colour, lighting and design, and passion for her subject matter give her paintings a realistic dimensional feeling.
Her work has been displayed in many juried and non-juried shows, group shows in various galleries as well in the Artist's Direct Show in the Round-up Centre. Examples of her work may be found in private and corporate collections across Canada.

Ursula Pagenkopf

|
As a young child I always liked to draw, concentrating mostly on cartoon characters, like Daisy and Donald Duck and the likes, and other farm animals.
It is not until the later years in my life that I started to paint, firstly in oils, then in acrylics. What has evolved from my endeavours has become my favourite subject matter and style of painting.
"ART FROM THE HEART".
I often think of my own childhood experiences and of the ones of my now grown children. This is what I often portray in my paintings: favourite childhood activities, interacting with animals, sometimes with a fairytale appearance.
We all like to think about times of fun filled activities gone by which we experienced as a child or re-live the good times we shared with our own children growing up.
Happy thoughts keep us young at heart!

Jane Szombathy

I started Watercolour Painting as a retirement hobby in 1988, beginning with the Saskatoon Painter's workshop for 4 years. In Saskatchewan I worked with: Barbara Klombies, Rose Mineau and Nettie Harder. Having the opportunity to go south to Arizona for "Snowbird" winters, I took advantage of workshops at The Scottsdale Artist School with professional artist: Diane Maxey,Mary Deloydt-Arendt,Judi Betts,Louis Lehrman and Eric Weigardt. In Calgary I have worked with Bobbi Dunlop and Linda Chan.
Awards I have received:
2003 "Honourable Mention" Calgary Stampede Creative Arts and Crafts.
2002 "Artist's Choice Award" Crescent View Artist's Association April Art Show.
1999 "Honourable Mention" Prince Albert, Sask. Winter Festival Art Show.
1992 I received an "A" upon completion of the North Light Correspondence Art School of Cincinnati, Oh.Certificate course.
Before moving to Calgary in 2001 I had lived all my life in Saskatoon, Sk. My husband Frank and I raised 4 children. After retirement we moved to Candle Lake in Northern Saskatchewan and lived there for 16 years. Surrounded by nature at the lake, I found it enriching and encouraging of my desire to paint. I loved it all....trees,water,birds,flowers and some animals.
The challenge of water colors is never ending and so satisfying for me.

Anna Truderung

|
Anna was born in England and grew up in the wide open spaces of East
Africa.
She immigrated to Canada, where she worked as a Registered Nurse for
many years. Anna always had a desire to paint the great outdoors,
florals and mountains. Her love of skiing and hiking fueled her
inspiration.
In 1991 she took up watercolor painting at the Leighton Centre south of
Calgary.
Since then she has taken numerous workshops with prominent artists from
across Canada and the U.S. as well as at the Alberta College of Art.
"I love the way watercolor flows across the paper mixing colors and
creating its own synergies.
My love for the mountains, the high alpine areas and all of nature
gives me the ability to create my paintings".
Anna's work can be seen at Centenial Art Gallery 133 125-9th ave S.E.
