History of Interpretations Artists Association - Calgary Artists

The Interpretations Artists' Association is a Calgary-based association of a maximum of 20 local visual artists.

The group was formed in 1991 and new members are added periodically through a jury review process to replace members lost through attrition. The group offers its' members the opportunity to increase their individual exposure to the art market and to freely share and exchange ideas with other artists.

Meetings are held monthly and new ideas and educational projects are included in some of the meetings.

Interpretations generally holds two main art shows annually, with the largest show being held in late fall. The other show has traditionally been held during the spring in community facilities throughout the city. This has become a dynamic group of artists who enjoy sharing ideas and artistically support each other.
