Colleen Babie![]() |
Colleen Babie was born in Edmonton and raised in Calgary. She received a BA (Hons.) and an MA in English from the University of Calgary and the University of Alberta respectively. She worked in accounting and as a private tutor for children with learning problems for several years, but she is currently at home painting and raising her daughter. Colleen's medium of choice is water color and her paintings hang in private collections in Canada and in Australia. The magic, fluid nature of the paint greatly intrigues Colleen, and she continually strives to "come into her own" with the medium. A variety of influences inspire Colleen, but her garden is perhaps the greatest contributor to her passion for painting. Her creativity is driven by her admiration for the world around her, and by her desire to experience the endless possibilities available to her through her art.
