BLACK HILLS CABIN - By Yukon Artist Jim Robb

BLACK HILLS CABIN
with tree growing from sod roof

A beautiful 68” x 51” woven sourdough tapestry
$225

This cabin was located on lower Black Hills Creek in the Dawson City district. Jim Robb had one hour to make the drawing of this cabin in 1980. It was painted later. The helicopter was to arrive back to pick him up in that time. Larry Barr's company, Territorial Gold Placer's, had commissioned Jim to do a series of paintings. Barr wanted Jim to record what was still on the creeks before too many artifacts got bulldozed as rising gold prices were increasing mining activity. The cabin is gone now; the ground on which it sat was mined. And yes, this ground for a miner was good ground, in fact quite rich.
Sourdough tapestries are 100% cotton and machine washable in cold water using the gentle cycle and mild detergent. Do not bleach. Tumble dry.
