Born in Sault Saint Marie Ont. 25th of September 1969, that's where it all started for me.
My parents, Scottish immigrants, moved around a bit until we ended up in Orillia Ontario where I grew up with a brother and two sisters. By then I was dreaming and drawing.
Wildlife was my passion at the time, if I wasn't drawing the animals in and around the bush and swamps of Orillia I was trying to catch them. By the time I hit high school if I could see it I could copy it and I just left it at that. So after a few years I decided to do something with the gift I was given. I took a Graphic Design courses at the local community college, and as well a couple of smaller art classes I had a better understanding of art and design.
Then it was about the search from within, what am I doing? Why am I doing it? And what does it look like? I don't know. My art changes and grows as I do. It's a on going exploration and I just try to keep up.
I think that I am influenced by all Artists and art itself. Abstract landscape and fantasy are my primary interests, but through commissions I have gained knowledge on all kinds of subjects and styles. So for me art is schooling for life. What will my next painting or drawing be, and what will I learn from it. I hope my art will be enjoyed for the sake of art and maybe even mean something.
