Harnessing Dancer - By Canadian Artist Ken Ryan

Harnessing Dancer

14 x 18 inches
Oil on canvas
$1,200.00

We had a fantastic workhorse when we were farming . Her name was Dancer . She was mistreated before we got her but she soon came around with good care and lots of love. I still miss her. She started out as a Christmas gift for the boys so she had to let the boys be able to ride her as well. It turned out Dancer had a mind of her own , she would buck and hit the ground and roll you off . Callum my oldest son ( then 12 yrs. old ) would ride her while I walked behind them telling Callum what to do . It took a while but she got the idea , the horse just had a bad foundation. Unfortunately whether animal or person you will always revert back to your foundations in life when stressed, the idea was not to stress her when training and let her be a winner. I ended up using her more than the boys.
