Title: Soulfire

The vivid colours created by the setting sun and the black outlines of the silohouetted, leafless trees make this image a powerful work in contrast. This image was taken from my apartment in Japan in 1998 and represents one of their most revered symbols, the setting sun. In fact, the setting sun is symbolically represented on their national flag as a red circle, as the sun is often red when setting in the Far East. For me, a sunset inspires the creative philosopher within, symbolic of fire burning within my soul, challenging me to create art without boundaries.
