Malcolm Gatt
Canadian artist Malcolm Gatt was born in London, England, where he attended The Sir John Cass School of Art and the Croydon College School of Art and Design. He has exhibited in the UK and in British Columbia and Ontario in Canada. His painting Red Ball was selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, and was also featured in the Exhibition catalogue. After many years of painting still life he now concentrates on figurative work, which is mainly allegorical. A change in subject matter has also brought about a change in medium, from acrylic to oil. Malcolm is also an accomplished portrait painter, with a real feeling for the human form, and an uncanny ability to capture a likeness. In Ottawa he had the opportunity to paint, with two other artists, a diorama that was 60' x 13' of the Artic Tundra for the Natural History Museum's Artic Odyssey Exhibition. Malcolm Gatt now lives and paints in Burlington Ontario. Malcolm's paintings can be found in public and private collections in the UK, USA, Canada, Norway, New Zealand and Switzerland.
