Marnie Collins

Canadian Artist Marnie Collins
Canadian Artist Marnie Collins

Biography

Marnie's love of Canadian landscape was fostered from an early age by the majestic mountains, rivers and lakes of Quebec. She was born in Montreal and spent some of her favourite times in the Laurentians with her sisters and brother.

Her formal education in art and teaching was centered on colleges in Lancashire, England, the University of London, and Europe's greatest galleries.

Moving to Western Canada in 1982, she and her husband established a home and family in Calgary. Presently, she enjoys painting as a full time career after home schooling her son and daughter.

Marnie's acrylic artworks feature a variety of subject matter; floral landscapes, children, wildlife, and scenes of Canadian heritage. She is noted for her strong sense of colour and attention to detail.

For relaxation, she actively enjoys the great outdoors, particularly camping, boating and cycling with family, friends and pets. Many artistic ideas result from her interaction with nature in these pursuits.

Mount Victoria, Lake Louise - By Canadian Artist Marnie Collins Commissioned Artwork

Marnie can create a family heirloom commissioned painting featuring your children, relatives or pets. Consider capturing your home, cottage or favourite setting with artistic touches that say much more than a snapshot.

Marnie Collins Artworks offers a variety of unique custom framing to complement your artwork. We can also create greeting cards, note cards and stationary based on the painting. Commissioned paintings can be created from photographs. Natural lighting (sunlight) works best to show true colours. It is preferable to see the subjects and photograph them myself, but if that is not possible, clients may provide me with their own suitable photographs.

Once suitable material is selected, we would then discuss the best options to represent the subject and create the painting. Because each commissioned piece is unique, prices will vary. Quotes will be based on size, complexity, media and time involved.
