![]() By Canadian Artist Pat Kimery |
A native Albertan, Pat grew up in southern Alberta and now lives in Calgary.
She worked as a nurse in Calgary and began pursuing her love of art when her children were teenagers. Her rural background influencing her subject choices, she uses acrylics and watercolours to convey the mood and beauty of nature, painting landscapes, florals and seascapes.
A love of colour and the influences of light that she attempts to capture, as well as a sense of peacefulness, pervade her paintings.
She has studied under Alberta artists as well as such well know artists as Brent Heighton, Anne Hunter, Joyce Kamakura, Zolton Szabo, Michael O'Toole, Mike Svob, Alex Fong , and others in workshops. Her studies also include courses at the University of Calgary.
She has shown in a number of galleries as well as the Interpretation Artists' Association's shows, of which she was a founding member.
Her works may be found in collections in the U.S., Europe, and Canada.
