The Equine Art of Shannon Lawlor

Biography

Originating from southwestern Manitoba, Canada and presently located in the Alberta foothills, Shannon feels the solitude and beauty of country life continues to affect her artwork in a positive manner.

Having spent the formative years involved with horses on many levels, this in turn has evolved into the ability as an artist, to capture her subject matter as it appears in reality. Infinite moments of real life experiences are seized in her own unique interpretation using primary acrylics, oil and graphite. Brush mileage and continuously honing her skills and techniques contribute to the ongoing passion of striving always to reach new and greater heights of professional achievement. Furthermore, the study of reality and subject matter lends itself to the structure, depth and detail found in her pieces. The great appreciation she has for her subject matter is evident in each of her carefully rendered pieces. Having had the opportunity to spend time with some of the top artists of today, also contributes to the body of work she is now creating.

A collection of recently acquired awards including numerous Best of Show Drawing, Best of Show Acrylic, Jurors Choice, Peoples Choice, and Presidents Choice, is a contributing factor to the growing number of collectors from around the world displaying Shannon's work. Some of the juried exhibitions Shannon has participated in as of late are the Phippen Museum Western Art Show, Prescott AZ, Greeley Stampede Western Invitational Art Show Greeley CO, Cattlemen's Western Art Show Paso Robles CA, Peppertree Art Show, Santa Ynez CA, Ariat Country Christmas NFR Las Vegas NV and the prestigious Mountain Oyster Club Art Show in Tucson AZ.
