Canadian artist Michelle Pilon has a diversified subject interest and style using Pastel, Acrylic or Oil, in creating realistic artworks ranging from Equine to Landscape and Wildlife, Pet Portraits to People and Lifestyle. Michelle’s attention to detail is evident in her animal portraits, where she keenly captures their personality in their eyes and facial expression.
Growing up on the edge of beautiful Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and being a lover of horses, Michelle took every opportunity to take in the near-by countryside. For most of her art career, she has worked in Pastel, creating a life-like result by applying onto suede mat board which gives an almost endless layering ability. Michelle is more recently experimenting with a "looser" style using acrylics and some oils.
In 2015, Michelle's painting "Dedicated Dreams" won the Spruce Meadows 40th Anniversary Commemorative Poster Competition.
