Many years ago I left Montreal to live in Paris leaving behind a successful career as a Graphic Designer in the fashion business. In France I decided to explore my passion for watercolor painting. Eventually I was fortunate enough to find a niche in the world of children’s books where I wrote and illustrated several books and still contribute regularly to children's magazines.
My studio is located in our country home near Fontainebleau. This agricultural and forested region serves as the inspiration for my latest artistic focus devoted to nature and wildlife.
As our property is not landscaped and gives directly onto the forest it is home to all sorts of animals. Hedgehogs, foxes, wild boar, deer and a vast variety of birds call our garden home. Most of my artwork is created from direct observation using sketches or photos. I strive to realistically portray my subjects even in those works which spring up from memory and my imagination. Getting lost in the details is a form of meditation for me.
