Nature Always Wins

There are certain fundamentals to life that we cannot avoid or change.

Gravity is one of those tenets.

And another one of those unwritten rules is that nature always wins.

Try as we might, we cannot avoid the ravages of time.

I like this image because it speaks to both human nature and Mother Nature.

This is a message of neglect and abandonment.

This is what happens when we don’t get involved.

This is what happens when we ignore things.

Mother Nature will exert her will.

The undergrowth and decay is closing in on the door.

What man has built is only temporary.

But what compounds the feeling of despair is the vandalism.

I don’t know why we as a species see a need to destroy things … but we see evidence of it everywhere.

I feel like the growth at the foot of the door represents our tenuous hold on life.

And it is up to us to protect and fight for what we hold dear.

Nature will always win.

Our choice is what we do with the time that we have.
