Artist Statement

"Most native people speak of their land as having different tones. All land has a tone to which we can respond, a note by which we can orient ourselves. By learning to hear the land's song, you will recognize your own life song and learn what creates harmony and dissonance for you."

Artist Biography

Born and educated in Toronto, Ontario, Lynn Soehner is a professional artist whose acrylic on canvas paintings are recognized for being graphically bolder with rich, exotic colors, offering a kind of cadence or rhythm which evokes the "Spirit of Place". What is consistent in her art, is a sense of ease, even playfulness in her colour choice and treatment of forms. Soehner's work is frequently used on products and in magazines to convey the "feeling" of the land.
