I was born in 1970 and raised in Toronto, Ontario. I have always been a very artistic person. My creative interest started when I was very young, I found I was rarely without my sketch pad and pencils. As I got older, my favorite pass times branched out to include needlework, crochet and pottery, although I never did master that wheel. My one true passion, however, has always remained creating images on paper.
Over the past few years I have discovered and fallen in love with the magic of watercolor painting. I love the way the colors blend into each other the way only watercolor can. I am self taught - with the help of dozens of You Tube videos, books, lots of patience and many hours of practice, I have learned ( and continue to learn) this medium.
Painting has taught me to slow down, take the blinders off and pay close attention to my surroundings. For this, I am grateful. I am now able to interpret my encounters with the natural world around me with a unique perspective and apply them to my paintings.
Often, people ask me to paint their houses, cottages and vacation pictures for them. I find this commissioned work very rewarding. My paintings are not meant to look exactly like the photograph, I like to embellish the colors and have some fun with it. I can, however, accommodate requests for specific color schemes and painting size.
