In this modern world, there are many who would pretend mastery and artistry but, the truly gifted are few and far between. Much of that has to do with the grounding and schooling of the individual artisan. Jesper Jensen is one of those rare, properly schooled, incredibly talented artisans whose work is of the highest order; he is truly as much artist as artisan.

His love of the outdoors provides inspiration for old country repousse art that is simply breathtaking in accuracy, detail and dedication to the discipline. Working in precious metals, his is renowned for magically hammering three dimensional forest and stream creatures into metal. These rare pieces compound in value even before being delivered.

Of the many awards to come his way, he takes greatest pride in the prestigious World Titanium Council award, an industry award from his peers. Noted for an ability to meld old world technique with modern technology, he creates much sought after jewellery designs in Titanium combined with other rare metals and gems. Though much of his work involves diamond setting, Jesper favours the dramatic quality of coloured stones. Little wonder then that some of his finest creations involve the rare reds, blues and yellows of precious gems.

Shortly after, Jesper and his wife Karin emigrated to Canada where Jespers professional career advanced quickly. Today he is independent and operates , by invitation , out of Olsen Silver Co. Ltd. in High River, Alberta, Jesper and Karin live near there in a quiet country home.

Jesper Jensen was destined to be a goldsmith having grown up in his fathers Goldsmith shop in Copenhagen, Denmark. In 1984 Jesper finished a 4 year goldsmith apprenticeship under his fathers tutelage, then left his fathers bench to work as a journeyman goldsmith for three years at another Danish goldsmithing shop. In 1987 Jesper was accepted into a design program for journeymen goldsmiths offered by Copenhagen College,of gold, silversmithing and professional design.. He graduated 2 years later with highest honours and two design awards.
